Recycle Your Christmas TREE "The Gift that Keeps on GIVING"

  • MAKE MULCH--cut off the boughs & make a protective blanket for your plants.  Plants that might come up early and be nipped by a late spring frost, such as early emerging perennials.

  • GIVE to the BIRDS--Provide shelter for wild birds.  Hang bird treats from the tree--Put peanut butter on cones--Peanut butter is a very nutritious treat high in calories and fat content.

  • GIVE to the FISH--Sink the tree in deep water--old trees become habitats for fish & aquatic insects.  A local restaurant at Lake Wallenpaupack, PA collects your used tree every year.

  • Compost or Chip it--Call your municipal administrative office to find if they pick up trees after the holidays.  Many municipal sites offer free compost and/or wood chips for mulch for the garden in the spring.
Many gardeners have healthier landscapes & they have kept the perfectly good  organic matter out of the landfill.

TREES ready for the final DECORATIONS

Our son, Joseph, who graduated  from  CORNELL  University as an Mechanical  Engineer works in the Aerospace Industry.  He finds time in his busy schedule to help his Dad setup our Port Jervis lot & many, many of the years has trimmed the trees during those 12 - 16 yrs.    in the fields at our NYS tree farm.   Our son-in-law, Tony, has also found time to help with the harvest & lot setup and Walter's cousin, Aaron, is now learning how to trim the trees.    Appreciate ALL the help!

Trimming occurs for 12 + yrs.
